Sheep Tag Community Host Bot Rules
« on: November 02, 2013, 07:31:19 am »
Rules for using Sheep Tag Community Host Bots.
So far the below is approved by CandyManKiller for his host bots and SheepGod for his host bots.(Still need to obtain approval from Sor_bot owner and spoofy.
Consequences outlined
If found breaking any of the rules a users access may be removed, if said user is lucky enough to not have their access removed then they will definitely be warned. If the user is removed by having 3+ warns, the user can not apply for host bot access for a month.
If the user is removed by doing only one thing and it's rash(which is why he was removed), said user may apply for access One week later, only if sufficient evidence is given that you will not break the rules again.

Should the user obtain access a second time and break the rules again(No warnings this time, they've already been removed and didn't learn their lesson), they will be removed yet another month before they can apply for it, once again sufficient evidence must be given to the owners that you will not break these rules again.

Rules
1. Do not kick anyone from the game if they are not an approved ban.
An approved ban is a user who has a: Is banned from one game or multiple weeks for the reasons listed in this link.
2. Do not attempt to ban anyone from the bot. No user will be banned from playing on the bot at anytime from now on. If the user is banned from playing on the bot, said user can only be kicked from the game(repeatedly I may add).

Banned user additional information
-The user that is banned is given low priority in the games(This user can be booted for other people should the game be full).
-The user that is banned is only allowed to play in the game if 100% of the people agree.
If one person in the game disagrees that he's allowed in, then the user banned will not be allowed to play unless the person who has a problem with the banned user leaves the game by their own free will.

i will always approve of anything seemingly productive for the community. you have my approval. however, i will give my opinion, i feel as though its too much work for what its worth. i understand you want to remove bans. i believe there is a much more simple "system" to solve this problem. i will help you think of one, but it will take time. reason i think it needs to be more simple, players are barely sending in replays to an email address. i really doubt they are going to take the time to read all your rules and follow them.

questions...

what are the determinants set that decide whether its a warning or an immediate removal?

who is going to keep track of the bans?

who is going to keep track of the length of time a person is banned for?

who is going to keep track of the time a person is able to apply / reapply for admin?

how and where is a player going to check if another player is an "approved ban"?

why is a "banned" user even allowed into the game? low priority etc should not matter, they should be banned, whether its kicking them constantly or actually -ban 'ing them.

banned definition: officially or legally prohibit (something).

Ok so, the incentive to read the rules, which are pretty short in the first place, will be that you don't get your access removed and you wont be warned when you break one of those rules.

As stated in the rules, it's both. It really depends on what happened. It's up to the host bot owners and whether they know of the rules.

who is going to keep track of the bans?
Us. the community will. We will have a banlist presented on the forums that is updated regularly. I can be in charge of this if you like.

who is going to keep track of the length of time a person is banned for?
Once again that same list will be I'll state a date banned, time and date ban ends.

who is going to keep track of the time a person is able to apply / reapply for admin?
I can if need be.

how and where is a player going to check if another player is an "approved ban"?
This forum. I am also able to develop a command for bots if need be.

why is a "banned" user even allowed into the game? low priority etc should not matter, they should be banned, whether its kicking them constantly or actually -ban 'ing them.
So banning a user indefinitely will deter the user from playing altogether, we don't want that user to quit. However we don't want them in the game over other people. We want to also allow them to play provided that all in the game don't have a problem with it and the game isn't full(So that games that aren't full can have an extra player.

banned definition: officially or legally prohibit (something).
Yes, you are correct, I am abusing the word "Ban/Banning/Banned". I should perhaps say that they are on probation.

Collective efforts to enforce rules always ends up failing like a toilet-bowl.

The problem is that when the wrong person breaks the rules nobody will care or even try to enforce the rules. Even if Cmk made 10 bannable offences he wouldn't be excluded from any games. Rather, the people trying to get him excluded would be the ones kicked from games.

So the only ones who will end up taking the heat is the ones nobody cares about (the community toilets)

What's better than rules is hostbot owners who are fair, kind and have the communitys best interest at heart. We don't need rules, we just need people in authority who can make rational decisions.

(I'm not saying the current people in charge isn't doing a good job, I honestly don't know exactly who owns hostbots nowdays)

No one tells me what to do with bots. Especially with bababot, don't try to do bullshit Alph4bet. I can kick and ban everyone I want, no one can stop me from doing that, however, I almost never kick or ban anyone, only super retards. So I think nightngale should be banned from being a such retarded freaking flamer.

No1 tells you in your random games such as SNIPER or w.e you play, but in Sheeptag you gotta follow them. Or you'll lose your access.
Not cuz you are my friend or cmks one that you can do what ever you want :)
Lets follow the rules

Cmk did even said to me those rules aren't for me, he doesn't care about who I ban. So actually I would ban everyone I wanted, but as far as you know me,  you know that I wouldn't ban random people for no reason like a freakshow trolling people. However when a person really pisses me off, I kick his ass without warning. :D

I am sure cmk told you this because you are a non-sheeptag player. But if you are going to start to play it again like you said you would do so, then you have to follow the rules as cmk has to follow them, as I have to follow them.
No friendships!
