So here is what I'm failing to grasp.
Instead of getting behind me Shoop. With the map I'm releasing, your discussing possible changes to minimalistic. I have added/removed everything you posed good arguments for(bounty etc..). I have also kept some of the stuff that users don't want removed(Wide farm  Invis potion etc...) Here is my question, if Chakra will not make any changes to your map Shoop, who is going to? As Chakra stated earlier, he is teaching me zinc. He doesn't want much to do with map making besides helping me out with triggers/zinc.

The reason why it isn't already being released is that Gosu had designed these triggers long ago. They are HUGELY out-dated and I am having to rewrite the majority of functions. I'm developing the map in a more Object Oriented fashion. All the changes that I have listed are completed, I'm just currently rewriting all the functions(smart/switch/fair/reverse/start etc..) in zinc, making them neat and collaborating together correctly.

Point is shoop, most people don't even agree on ur "Base" map . For example u removing invis made many people boycott this map. Gold sharing is debatable, but i think we could find disagreements there aswell. On the other hand base beers map is favoured by majority AND with slight updates i believe his map would be much better for st development.

Just so i make it clear, I'm not completely against the map. I'm just openly debating why it is better than the current one. So far majority favours current map, majority favours current system(Gold sharing, iron golems, Cloaks).

I dont understand what anyone of you are opposing though.

NOONE is claiming the current ST Minimalistic is even a good map. BUT, it has a lot less dogmatic beliefs basing its features than BEERs map that we (the people who do believe in rational discussion above populism and random guesses) can work with in order to develop a lot better map then BEERs (or any other ST map).

The advantage I give is not that the current map is better for sheeptag, but that its a better platform for development than BEERs.

Spoofy
"As an analogy, the STC is climbing a hill to develop the optimal sheep tag map. lets just say the map prior to beers only pleased half the community, it climbed half the hill. on the other hand, beers map pleased 3/4's of the community, its almost at the top (needs some fixes)."

I completley disagree with this. I dont think BEERs map is even close to some sort of "perfect st map". Infact I think its trash compared to the potential this game has. Why would just BEERs map be so close to perfection? There is no reason to say this. The only reason you have to say this is because its the most played map atm. That have been true for a lot of prior maps aswell, and at their peaks we would have had equally strong arguments to make this claim about them.

The reasonable approach is to stop this dogmatic assumptions that the solutions we have now is "close to perfection" and look at how we can improve the map from every perspective. Since BEERs metod behind developing the map has been a mere tragedy I chose to not assume any of the changes he has made to be even positive for the map. It is better to analyze them and add the good ones rather than assuming they are all good and place ourselves in a cluster of idiotic assumptions without a direction for the map.

If you want to do this, I am not stopping you, but I dont see why this should stop me and others who dont believe in that method from developing ST Mini from its current stage?

SheepGod
Seems like your map will be yet another victim for populism "I have also kept some of the stuff that users don't want removed". I dont see how it will be any different from BEER.

Since this thread have completley turned OT Ill make a new topic for the actual mapchanges in ST Minimalistic and we can keep this discussion here.

Lets just discuss certain points so we can make some progress here

First of all lets discuss invis

Can you bring arguements which support the idea of removing this ability/item/rune?
I want to hear ur opinion regarding this matter before making any assumptions.

i'll bring my opinion after u answer the question.

Ive started and participated in this discussion 100 hundred times.

But yeah, for one it punishes runtag and rewards safemassing which makes the games less fun for both sheep and wolf.

Why should we keep it?

I never stated it was a "perfect st map". I simply stated it pleased the majority of the community. I also stated that the community is striving towards an optimal map. Furthermore, "Optimal" does not mean perfection, it means best or most favorable (majority of the community is pleased with beers map). To be blunt, my point was why are you trying to "recreate" a map? Just use beers map and edit it.

I do not support beers map because it is the most played map and it is no where near perfection. I have played many versions of st revoultion. If i do not like a current map, I will complain and boycott it, If i like it i will support it. I think for myself. I believe beers map is a decent map, its fun, pleases the MAJORITY of the community and only needs small fixes.

WHY does it please the majority of the community? There has ALWAYS been the ongoing debate between STACKS and NO STACKS. Players quit if there are stacks in the map, players quit if there are no stacks in the map. I truly believe beer's map adheres to both opinions which is why it please the majority of the community. It satisfy's both opinions in one map. It was the solution to the debate that never ended. Like i said before though, it needs changes. Its not perfect.

side note: Why do I support beers map? I realize you have played the game longer than myself. However, i have also played with maps that have stacks, no stacks, and stacks with stomp. The last time I was an active sheep tagger was in 2009. There were no stacks, no stomp and farms were 3 hit. I enjoyed playing the game, i will always enjoy playing sheep tag, but I will admit the gameplay was "slower". After returning from a long break (2013), stacks and stomps had been added to the game. I quickly realized how much "faster" the gameplay seemed. This was exciting and compelled me to keep playing. I honestly believe beers map is a huge step up. It has ALMOST balanced the "fun" component of having stacks in the game with the stomp function. I support beers map.

Ok Shoop, I'm just going to state this now in the open, and this is the only time I'll say it.

I am currently developing a map of my own as you very well know and you didn't participate in the chat at all. It will be taking your economy idea and mixing it with modern st. Instead of adding mass stuff later like you plan to, I'd rather hear arguments to remove/change stuff.

Now here is what I see your problem is, you have no idea how to edit a map. Even with the minuscule changes you are talking about now, you have no idea how to make them. If you are hell bent on making this map I suggest you go to www.hiveworkshop.com look up a few tutorials and get yourself acquainted with the map editor. As I will not be editing minimalistic, the following is why:
1. You want to remain in charge of a map but are unable to do said changes yourself, I am nobodies ****, I will not blindly do your bidding, I will not do changes that you alone give the ok to.
2. Your map is my direct competition, alongside beers, but he's left Sheep Tag. Why would I help you make yours when I'm making my own?

You may be able to con Chakra into editing your map, but I doubt it. He doesn't want to, therefore you have two choices,
A: Get someone who knows how to edit a map, to make the exact edits you want.
B: Support me and suggest changes to my map and why, reasons such as "because its cool, or because i said so, or 'cause it does this" wont fly. Tell me exactly what you think the effect it will have, and why it should be added/removed/changed, if for some reason I agree(Like I did with your economy idea), it is merely a change that is in beta. If it doesn't have the effect that I and others like, it will be taken out. EG: If the economy idea(once balanced), ends up being bad. Then it will be removed and the old economy restored with a few changes.

If you choose option b, then test my map before suggesting changes. If you choose the alternative option, then good luck marketing your map against mine.

After a few months the majority almost always "like" the new map, because the players that didn't like it stopped playing.
I support new map making!  I might even get interested in normal st again, if there's no **** sheep images  ;D

Go shoop!!! Go mike!!! Give us new maps!!

My iddybiddy idea: Add a "no wisp" mode, if only so people will stop whining about 3v4.  Adding gold doesn't do much to balance the play: the wolves generally win immediately or they start giving up.
Also can stack farms be bigger again? Idk why they got turned into midgets, makes me feel self conscious about my p3nis size for some reason.
