Sheep Tag Community

a CLAN(!) has been created for sheeptaggers on dota2 now. we've previously used a basic channel called "sheep tag community" for the purpose of uniting the ST players; it didn't work out and people stopped using it after a while.

the problem was that the channel offered zero functionality. it simply offered a common place for people to stay and chat. but noone wants to chat in dota2, and only the people currently logged into the game were found in the channel. so the channel lost all it's purpose and having more than a few names on the channel-list was uncommon.


The main differences with the clan:
1) everyone who's in the clan will be available in a "members list" so that other sheeptaggers know who's active on dota 2, and are able to add people to their friendlist without the necessity of people being logged on.

2) you can open "Clan games" where any member of the STC can join your party without the necessity of having the people in your friendlist (good if you want privacy/don't wanna add mass sheeptaggers to your steam, yet still want to play games with them from time to time with relative ease)

these are the main points i can think of, and are the reason i created the clan. it makes it insanely easy for people to find eachother on dota2, and play with eachother. you don't HAVE to be in the clan to do this, but it makes it much easier for everyone, with 0 downsides.

This clan is for sheeptaggers, but also for people with ties to us, people who're known throughout the community. the goal is to unite as many people as possible. i've only added the people in my friendlist so far, but anyone is welcome (you gotta be logged on dota2 to get an invitation if you're not in my friendlist on steam).


You can be in as many clans on dota2 as you want, and you can leave at any time. noone in the clan will have any information about you/your account that they don't already have access to. 0 risk/downsides in joining.

So yeah, everyone who has an invitation -> ACCEPT membership to the clan =D And tell me who you'd like invited to the clan if they aren't already invited.





As a side note; if anyone wants to learn Dota (2), add me on steam (Account: chiefhero). I can give you help and guide you, and i'll invite you to the clan so that you have access to everyone in the community. Dota 2 is a GREAT game

I encourage everyone to use BNET as the main platform for chatting btw. this clan (although it comes with a good channel) is mainly for easier parties and to unify the players who play dota2.

additional information:

 1) For those of you who're new to dota2 or simply don't know how **** works, you can find the clan (and eventually other clans you decide to join) in the "COMMUNITY" tab once you're inside dota2. when you click on "COMMUNITY" (button on the top of the screen), you will get the option of browsing all your clans. under "My Guilds" you can choose "Sheep tag community", and you'll get the option to read the clan message, see clan members, and so on.

our clan channel should be up automatically when you enter dota2, where i'll try to be 24/7 from now on.


 2) Once you create a clan game (this means that anyone from the clan can join your game regardless of whether they're in your friendlist or not), you can still kick out people you don't want to play with (those people most likely wont join your game tho). there is no "abuse" on dota2 - the host gets to decide who he wants to play with, and everyone has to understand/accept that. Everyone can create their own game. you can still invite people from outside the clan to our clangames, but you gotta do it manually.

once the clan is up and running, a good way to create games (especially for newcommers to dota2 who might not have an established group of people they prefer playing with) is to just create a clan party and wait for people to join. everyone in the clan will get notified, and those who are able and willing to play will join your game. this is great if you don't want to annoy people by asking them to play 24/7 (like i do ), if you don't want to ask people for games because you think they consider you bad, etc. Pretty good way for people to get into dota.


 3) The clan is FRESH atm, it will take a few days until everyone accepts the invitation. not everyone logs into dota2 daily. but i reiterate what i said in my first post; there are NO downsides to joining the clan, so i hope everyone accepts the invitation People might have a different nickname on dota2 (you can change it constantly) than they have on wc3, so just ask them who they are (or ask me) if you don't recognize someone in the memberlist.
