Title: -versus time limit
Post by: Tollison on November 06, 2013, 04:04:49 pm
The objective for sheep from both teams is to beat the enemy teams' previous time when they died.

Therefore, after you win, the game should end right then and there, but it doesn't.

Therefore, if I wish to destroy my farms and do some tricks with some shepherds I have every right to.

No, you are wrong.

If the opponennt's team does like 3min and we beat this time, there is no point to destroy and to ruin the game of the other 4/5 sheep. Like you did in the last versus where we had got a nice game even without you.

EDIT: To add, you mostly dont get the chance to destroy because 80% of the times you die in the first/second minute.

Why is he wrong?

oh, cuz you were in his sheeping team.
I guess if mappy was wolf he would say the opposite, and would have loved that one sheep destroyed to help him out.

There will never be a right or wrong answer. There are two different opinions. First opinion, object of a versus game is to reach the time limit eg. 20 minutes. Other opinion, object of  a versus game is to reach a time greater than their opponent, even if it is only 1 second. Both opinions are acceptable. The only logical way to "solve" this "problem" is to have a vote on the forums, majority rules. Anyone who tries to complain in game regarding their opinion on the TWO ACCEPTABLE opinions. Direct them to the voting results on forums. If they continue to disagree, create a ban appeal.

While I agree with Tolli, this is only a problem because shepherd isn't enjoyable, or nearly as enjoyable as sheep, to the strong majority. Fix that and this argument generally goes away, for the most part.

Are you talking about the objective goal or the intended goal? We could debate what the goal should be but in the cases i criticize u for ruining are the goal to do 20 min.

If the host would agree with you he wouldn't make -time 20 but -time xx (the same amount of time the first team did). Since he didn't it means the goal is to do 20 min. This doesn't need any more debate. If you think this is wrong you should try to persuade the host to make it your way but as long as he doesn't you'll just have to play along.

Now what should the goal to be? I personally only want to make it 100% about competition in top tier games. In average games we only do -versus to get fair teams and most people don't give jackshit about winning in your average game.

Keke I hope you get banned Tollison for bringing **** like this.

This is just a rehash of our previous arguments about both teams not getting 20 minutes.

If Tollison wants to **** around it means being on the first team is an advantage, which means that the host and those with power and influence in the community will get a lot more sheep time than the rest. Tollison's proposal is to give the first pick team a gigantic advantage and make 2nd pick team a toilet of hell. Great **** lol

Sheep and shepherd is quite fun to me.  I only dislike it when I have people who don't try to isolate the sheep that would be quickest to isolate and when I have to protect mid.

Saving should be removed from the game entirely and shepherds need to start using an effective cutting system.

Sidey, you're being biased.  You favor your sheep turn much higher than you do your wolf turn; therefore, your argument that there is a disadvantage to my argument is invalid based on your bias towards both teams which are supposed to be equal in favor to all players.
