I'm glad to see that the people like Drew, Sidey, Amir, Shoop, Cow, Shroomy, deadfly, weedsheep, philo, Chakra, etc. are inactive or won't play ST again.

Every day sheep taggers do what they did but are a lot better than them now. 

The only true legend, the one that was able to prove to be the best legend is CMK.  He does what it seems no one else could ever do.

IDC what the ones i listed above have to say about this cause they're just average or below average chumps now.

keep doing good people.  this generation deserves much more respect from each other and the old kids cause you're the best sheep taggers to walk through BNet.

cmk isn't a new player, he has played since before the GGC days. hes an OLDschooler. you have to think about what cmk's status was in 06-08; when he didn't have a 6 years advantage compared to other "legends"; when he had played equally much as the rest of us. that will give you a greater idea of the differences in talent/potential/whatever you wanna call it - the stuff that actually matters and is interesting.

after playing non-stop for over a decade, it would only be ABSURD if cmk didn't have better technical skill than people who played st for 2 years. there is no question that cmk is probably the best technical player atm, and this is very likely explained (entirely) by the fact that he has played/practiced much more than everyone else.

so, in a sense, we agree that cmk is the greatest technical player. neither of us know whether cmk would be the greatest today if all other "legends" also played for a decade straight without breaks, but common sense makes it unlikely.



on the other hand, i don't think ANYONE who plays today (cmk included) has greater strategical insight or gameunderstanding than most of the old "legends". i value these elements more than technical skill. thus, i'd EASILY pick 4 "legends" to be on my team than 4 technical players, given that we got ~2 months preparation to shape up our technical gameplay, and get rid of the rust. the greatest players of all time might still be "old legends", if we factor in gameunderstanding, strategical insight, innovative gameplay, risk assesment, and many other critical factors that shape a good player. in fact, i'd say it's quite obvious that certain "legends" are the best players once you factor in everything that matters.

everything i said is easily demonstratable by the sideygridder tournament in 2012 (and to some extent the stwc 2013), where ''legends'' dominated more than the "technical players" of the new age, partly because of better gameunderstanding etc.

Tollison if u ever pressed F11 in game, cmk's team has been defeated two or three times. I can't remember. ye sure cmk is a master of escape but the fact is there are still faster massers, better rters ect.

If it isn't Sidey it isn't legend... not sure I understand what Tolli was trying to do with this thread. In any case I'm calling out Bulldog22, yeah I know you don't read these forums or play Sheep Tag anymore but I didn't appreciate your comment a while back on the current state of runtag with the readvent of the stack farm.

What I accomplished:

People I listed in my first post and have the same characteristics of them are old news, not legends

Legends of ST are people like GosuSheep, Shroomy, Philosophize, MTTeam guy w/e his name is, etc.

The people who are calling themselves legends such as Shoop, Amir, Drew, would play poorly in todays games, they couldn't play very well unless they have a huge team to carry them.

tolli correct me if im wrong, but didnt east win 2 tournys just like Europe did? Clearly says so in hall of fame So on a "political level" the servers have both one the same amount of tournaments. Not playing sheep tag isn't a crime either. StH produced the BEST sheep taggers. If you don't know this then ur either a euro or a texan
