Community Discussion / Wondering thoughts about ST
« on: March 12, 2018, 05:06:26 pm »
After playing many years now, and many different ST games, on different maps, different people, different bots, etc. I have come to see some interesting things, but these are just some of my personal opinions / thoughts and observations.

Firstly, it seems that east players and Europe players inherently seems to have quite different styles of game play, and the games generally play out in different ways than if you had a game full of east players, versus a game full of European. It's hard to tell exactly what's different, besides the massing paths and particular moves a player will use as sheep. Wolfing is generally similar for obvious reasons. This seems like almost a unconscious philosophy difference between euro/east seem to have.

Having played with both sides, it makes you wonder which side you personally play more like, but that's very hard to tell. Personality ties into game style as well, with some players being much more obvious with this. For example someone like Zak, who gets bored easily and wants the thrills, will go for more dangerous and exciting moves with runtag, while someone like madhatters who is very calm and generally almost exclusively masses and runtags very limited. It could be those outlets of game play come from the culture of the game they come from, with Zak originally playing games that would encourage runtag like the sheep tag grr map. Or mad playing the old chill east revo games.

East players these days are also like remnants of a old people that were scattered and separated, while euro was once a flourishing city has dwindled to a small village. East players for years have had this weird cycle of disappearing and showing up, all at the same time might I add, with a few different people either being lost or joining. Some years it doesn't happen at all, others we suddenly have a full game of easties all reminiscing with each other. Certain people, like wanna-be-sheep, grim.shadow, magoo, etc. are seemingly on a longer loop, showing up once every few cycles. Wanna-be-sheep showed up and was very active a few years ago when we made clan EAST, but has since disappeared. The same could be said about grim.shadow who showed up a cycle after that for only about a day or two. Also, in most gaming communities a player who is 4+ years of being in said community would be viewed as very old, and rare. In the STC, almost everyone left is on average 8+ years so everyone is so old everyone except the ancient titans of 15+ years are viewed as actually old, which is amusing and a tribute to the longevity and grasp of the players of this community.

On the corrupting factor of the community: it seems that the longer one is in the STC, the more it influences and corrupts you, and the mark of a true champion is someone who stayed true to their own personality while also enhancing it with the community. This is what people generally call the "legends" of the community, and people who sold out, to ANY degree, are viewed as the followers or lesser. There are some people in the community who have been around for long, and have not been influenced despite that, and that is often due to lack of exposure to the entire community, and all its sides. They're also players with also a will to dominate that is unbreakable. The word "licker" etc. is generally used by people against anyone they don't like, and many are hypocrites that act in the same way towards someone else. It's also just something thrown around for no good reason then to stir drama. Of course most of this doesn't matter today, since the community is bare bones, and mainly describes the community a good while ago, albeit still referenced much.

Community Discussion / My personal Image and Idea of ST2
« on: January 23, 2018, 01:54:54 am »
Humans of a small village were once humble, but a cult grew to formidable strength and at one such point in its history, began a great
demonic ritual and it was there that the destiny of the people was decided.

Demons gave the humans great magically power to their peoples, and the contract seemed very unbalanced in the humans favor, and it was assured the demons would not collect their prize for much time.

After many years, the humans have built a great outpost of ancient society using their magics to build and construct.

However, the actual payment from the demons it seems, was left vague - and this was not of any coincident.

On what becomes a great reckoning to these people, one day the demons come for their prize: the souls of all descendants of those bloodline related to the contract.

But the humans, like they always are, fight to survive greedily and refuse to die out.

Now for the game itself: you (as the humans) must hold out surviving for the last (and strongest) magic wizard of your time to send the demons back and for good, and keep the magics for themselves, as a loophole in the contract would gift them with the ability to keep it (the magic they received) if they somehow survived. It is your job as the player to hold out in this crucial final 20 minutes and hold the demons at bay, at the same time not falling to darkness and having your soul collected (which could be saved in middle, unless everyone dies).

The chance of survival is slim - but it is there.

There are two paths: the demons succeed and collect fully on the contract, or the humans overcome and survive against all odds.

Community Discussion / Contributions to FT

Sidey: coined the terms: rabies dog, catapult.

Theory additions: Taking the top of middle as a strategy  (still being analyzed) and helped prove aggression Beats defensive style.

Cow: Theory additions: "Thaw faster, guarding and thawing are always more important than attacking last man" (still under analysis, looks to become debunked as 1969 FT theory).

Nmcdo: coined the terms: collapse, forest barbarian, backline, guide shots.

Theory additions: helped prove aggression beats defensive play style, helped create the theory of isolation, created the theory of balanced teams (not proven, still being tested, likely to be correct). Created the theory of mid control and it's effects*. Helped prove "s" thawing could be viable and more efficient thawing at times.

Night: Theory additions: pioneered the aggression theory vs defensive game play, helped prove the theory and popularize it.

Exalius: Theory additions: running forest as last man theory (under analysis, looks to be debunked), helped develop greatly the theory of guarding. Helped develop the theory of isolation.

Hey, I just noticed Neppy had finished his WOLF tutorial, that I and some other sheep taggers helped make. I find it's actually a really good explanation, showing multiple aspects of wolfing, how they can fail, or succeed in different cases.

Community Discussion / Frooze Player Analysis~
« on: January 07, 2017, 10:03:33 pm »
Some analysis on most of the active current players of frooze:
Sidey- El cid is currently famous for his overwhelming fence game which he uses every game and rushes at the beginning of every round to get to. Unbeknownst to many, his skills in middle without the fence are considered equal to those of top players in the game, so it is quite clear he has a motive behind his use of fences. Class: TRENCH MEDIC

Cow- ardlyshoe has a strong team game (3v3 etc), but is suspect for his individual play skills (solo). Has one of the most consistent skill ranges that changes very little. As of late, has started using allies as cop outs every game when losing, and one of his freshest quotes is: "Stop suck nmcdo ffs".
Class: Defender

Exalius- exa is a positional player, who likes to stay in the back line providing thaws and pin point attacks that could potentially kill enemies. Has a slight habit of getting to involved in other players movements and not his own, causing some accidental deaths early on. Has guarding skills as good as any other top guarder. Has a surprisingly good rabies / charge game, but it comes out very rarely and it seems to happen when he trusts his allies with thawing a lot. Class: defender

Nmcdo- Surprisingly has a wide variety skill levels, literally varying day to day / hours of gameplay. Famous for bad play when on Cowardlyshoe's team. On lowest, has a below average skills with thawing and freezing and staying alive. Rarely however, reaches high peaks in skills where freezing   and thawing / teamwork/ dodging are debate-ably best in the game. Class: Medic, Sub skill: AMBULANCE

Stannie- stannie has a really strong freezing game almost all the time, but his movement to dodge an opponents are wish washy as in they are either predictable or extremely elusive. Has perhapes the BEST backshot skill in the world, famous for using it at perfect opportunities to do so. Lacks a team awareness due to his overly aggressive play style, which usually results in a crush or a titanic level collapse for his team. Class: Rabies dog

Shoop- also known as the DRAGON, has decent skills overall, and while 1v3/ 1v2 at times has epic dodging moments. Famous for causing collapses within his team then questioning himself as to why he's not playing his best. Like nmcdo, has moments that can only be described as one of his quotes: "CRUSH". Class: Rabies Dog

Nightmare[behh]- Often always considered a top dog at Frooze, has a charge that even shackles Sidey from reaching the enemy teams fence, but is often confronted with 1v2 / 1v3 scenarios due to his placement in enemy lines. Often relying on his team to save him, has devastating dodging skills where his enemy misses him then he rushes 1 cm away from then before he shoots for the kill. Despite charging, knows when to save.
Class: Rabies Dog

Community Discussion / A proposal for current ST
« on: December 19, 2016, 05:28:32 pm »
I've come to realize that something doesn't feel correct about the way current ST is being played. The game is now faster paced due to 2 hit farms, and while stack counters a lot of this, the new anti stack stomp lessens the already large margin that makes sheeping hard and wolfing easy.

Wolf players can play mediocre and get away with it easily on 2 hit farms. Masses in current ST collapse seemingly instantly in small games, and perfect sheep rounds are the only time sheep survive to even a decent time. Not only this, but wolf players can buy a scythe a minute into the game, generating insane amounts of gold from 1 item, while cash farms are few and rare for sheep.

The problem lessens greatly in 5v5 and above, by the sheer # of farms the team produces balances out the isolation ratio vs time on average which is important.

Therefore, I propose we use 3 hit farms for games smaller than 5v5, while 2 hit for 5v5 and up.

Community Discussion / SPARK! A New Debate!
« on: April 29, 2016, 04:27:47 pm »
What Makes you Better at Sheep Tag, Skill Or Intelligence?

While the game may be dead, there's debate still to be said.

My theory: While skill definitely helps, I believe it is very obvious that intelligence is more important.

Think about it: Would you pick an ally who you know won't die independently, or someone you know would save you?

Another angle is this, lets say you have one team is manifest individual skill, the other manifest intelligence / team work (team work is a part of ST knowledge).

Ex 1. Sheep are individual, wolves are Intelligence.

Result (what I think would happen): Each Sheep would get isolated eventually by good wolf team work and would continue until all the sheep were dead.

Ex. 2 The Wolf team is individualism, Sheep is Team work.

Result: Either no sheep would even get isolated or they would always be saved / bridged. Considering intelligence is factored into escaping from an isolation (constantly calculating the best possible route). While the wolves wouldn't work together and do what they think best. When wolves don't work together it's a recipe for disaster.

Conclusion: Intelligence and skill are correlated highly, you know what you can pull off and what you can't.
But ultimately Intelligence plays a larger role at being better at ST at:

60 % Intelligence 40% Skill

ALL ANSWERS ARE FOUND ON ST YOUTUBE VIDEOS. Answers are subjective on some, so you must have a best prediction.

 1. "I am a pro wisp normally it's my main skill!" - Who?            (No idea how hard)

Is a comment on a video, responding to a moment in the video (hint). What video?

2. Inside a ST video

"ROFL" next is "(name) SERIOUSLY RAPAGE ATM"   (Easy)

3. Who made a ST video where the music builds up into a certain moment (stands out).   (Medium possibly)

4. What video was famous for it's tinies usage. (Sssssuper easy)

5. The name of the most troll ST video and funniest. (EASY)

6. A one clip ST video which stood out vastly. (Again, easy)

7. A ST video that was released before vacation (Maybe hard?)

8.  "**** TIME (NAME)" (Easy?)                    **** Is R A P E

I've been here for about 3 almost 4 years now. I've played, talked, and had a large experience in this community.
Now that the game has really died down (at least right now) and I don't think it matters that much to me, I'm willing to answer any question
toward me truthfully. Not going to say my name etc though.

If you want to know the truth of who I am, refer to this post: http://sheeptag.createaforum.com/community-discussion/nmcdo's-story/msg3765/#msg3765
That entire story is true, whatever you think.
